The Forbidden City (Beijing, China)

The Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace, was the home of Chinese emperors for nearly 500 years.

Covering over 180 acres, this massive complex is one of the largest palace complexes in the world and is surrounded by a 26-foot-high wall and a wide moat.

With nearly 1,000 buildings, it is a stunning example of traditional Chinese palatial architecture, featuring grand halls, tranquil courtyards, and exquisite artifacts. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, it houses the Palace Museum, showcasing Chinese art, culture, and history.
